Coronavirus COVID 19 and Tattoos, Should You Get Tattooed During a Pandemic?

The short answer is, no.

We love doing tattoos as much as you love getting them. We love designing new works of art for you, talking with you, and all in all just chillin with you in the tattoo shop.

It sucks that right now that we don’t get to do that. We are stuck at home self- isolating, hopefully with family, but some of us alone.

We are feeling very strong emotions right now, and usually when we feel those strong emotions, we turn them into a tattoo. Emotions and weirdness have always inspired getting tattooed. The act of getting the tattoo brings us back down to earth. The pain makes us snap out of the dream-like state we are in and makes us more present. It is a way to visualize and get past whatever we are going through.

And, we will be able to do this all again very soon. And, just like all good things, the longer we wait, the better it will be.

We don’t have all of the answers.

We get it, it's a scary time right now. It's hard to decide how to react, you hear a lot of conflicting information, and it's  hard to wade through all the bullshit. 

Different officials are recommending different courses of action. Different cities are imposing different regulations.

The situation keeps evolving and we are trying to evolve with it.

The motto of Mr. Inkwells Tattoo Shop is “We make getting tattooed easy”. So, that is why in the wake of the pandemic it has made our decision to close until it is over easy.

We don’t want you getting a tattoo and feeling uncomfortable, scared, or worried. We want you to enjoy the entire process, we want your tattoo to be a mini vacation from all the stresses of the world. 

And right now, when people are going to get groceries with gloves and masks on, it’s hard to feel comfortable anywhere.

As well as making our customers feel comfortable, we also want our team at Mr. Inkwells to feel comfortable too. They need to be with their families at this time. They need to be safe just like you. 

There are no right answers right now, there are just better answers. And in trying times all we can do is our best to come up with those better answers.

And those answers you have to find for yourself,  you have to look at everything objectively, then decide what is the best action for you to take. 

That is what we have done together as team at Mr. Inkwells Tattoo Shop.

So, should You Get Tattooed During a Pandemic?

For now, the answer is no.

Let’s wait it out, try and enjoy our quarantine as much as possible, and cross our collective fingers in hope it will end soon.
