Interview With Tami Martina
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I was always into art of all kinds, but the one thing that I always was the most interested in and impressed by was body art.
From theater makeup to tattoos and everything in between. Body art is my true passion. My interest and curiosity are what spurred my pursuit of learning about, and in turn learning to create makeup effects and open my tattoo studio Mr. Inkwells Classy Tattoos.
Building a business from something you love and are truly passionate about is great, and I feel that love shines through at the studio Mr. Inkwells.
Please tell us about your art.
I create art on the body. The reason why is I believe the human body is art to begin with, then I get to add to that amazing work of art and enhance it. The “how” is specific to the vision and varies with every canvas (person), and situation. I hope when people see the make-up I have done, or have seen the tattoos done at my shop they see the passion and beauty put into each piece of art. I also want everyone who gets my art on them to feel great about it.
We often hear from artists that being an artist can be lonely. Any advice for those looking to connect with other artists?
Find other artists that have the same passions as you, then work together with them and create a workshop. That is what we did Mr. Inkwells, we built an artist workshop where we can help one another create greater art, than we could create on our own.
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
